Millsleigh Irish Sport Horse and Pony Stud is a fully operational Small Micro Enterprise (SME) breeding and producing quality Irish Sport Horses and Connemara Ponies.

The Stud provides employment for a staff of seven, with Professional Service Providers and Coaches/Trainers regularly supporting the Stud in the scenic rural area of the Eastern Free State, South Africa.

Mares and Stallions (South African bred and imported) of Thoroughbred, Irish Sport Horse and Connemara breeds have bred with South African Irish Sport Horse, Irish Draught and Connemara breeding lines subsequently producing three generations of quality young horses and ponies most suited for the Equestrian Performance Multi-disciplines including (but not limited to) Eventing, Show Jumping, Dressage, Equitation, Mounted Games and Showing.

Millsleigh Irish Sport Horse and Pony Stud was undertaken in 2005 as the first Project of “Intersection Management Services CC” a registered Closed Corporation, the Sole Member Zena Penfold a Professional Project Manager (previously Project Management Institute certified) in the IT Industry.

In 2012 the second Project was established to continue and conserve the legacy of the Nationally known Ashgar Connemara Stud in Clarens, in collaboration with the owner Christine Walwyn. An article describing her legacy (written by herself) supports the Conservation menu above. Millsleigh Stud provides the facilities and land required to breed South Africa’s remaining generation of pure-bred Connemara Ponies.

Further education (Pony Club qualifications) may be offered from time to time during school holidays.
